The record was previously held jointly by Magdalen College Oxford and Manchester University.
Magdalen won in 1997, 1998, 2004 and 2011; Manchester won in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
Imperial won for the first time in 1996, and for the second time in 2001. Their third win in 2020 started a run of wins in three consecutive even–numbered years (2020, 2022 and 2024).
